The wellbeing of serving personnel and their families is of the utmost importance. This section aims to support this by providing service personnel and their families with information and advice ranging from relationships to relocations and from education to professional welfare support.
Wellbeing
Naval Personal and Family Service (NPFS)
Specifically aimed at Royal Navy personnel and their families, NPFS aim to prevent or reduce the effects of personal difficulties, especially those which come as a result of Service life. NPFS will respond in a sensitive manner to any request for help and offer support and advice to enable people to resolve matters.
Royal Marines Welfare (RMW)
Specifically aimed at Royal Marines and their families, Royal Marines Welfare aim to prevent or reduce the effects of personal difficulties, especially those which come as a result of Service life. RMW will respond in a sensitive manner to any request for help and offer support and advice to enable people to resolve matters.
Relationships
Being married, or in a long term relationship with a Service person can be a challenge but met head on there are plenty of things you can do to maintain your relationship.
Relocating
So you have the dilemma of whether to embark on a long distance relationship or to move away from your family and friends. It is always a tough call to make and ultimately it will be your choice but, a little knowledge prior to consideration goes a long way.
Medical and Dental
This section will not be able to diagnose a medical or dental problem but, it will provide you with the places to start looking for help, guidance and advice ranging from who to contact in a medical emergency, to finding an NHS Dentist in your area.
Welfare Benefits
Don’t assume that by being in the Royal Navy or the Royal Marines that you and your family are not entitled to any welfare benefit support. Welfare benefits exist to cover a multitude of circumstances and conditions that are as applicable to the Armed Forces as they are to your civilian counterparts.
