Operational and Medical Roles
OPERATIONAL AND MEDICAL ROLES
Being part of the action:
When you join the Royal Marines Band Service, you’ll not only be musically trained, but you’ll also develop the skills you need to provide vital support on military or humanitarian operations. You’ll be medically trained to support the Royal Navy and Royal Marines on operations, as well as helping provide aid to some of the world’s most desperate people.
Juggling your band role:
As well as making music, you’ll be making a real difference to people’s lives. Your job is vital to the Royal Navy, and it’s your chance to combine your musical skills with helping people worse off than yourself. Musicians and buglers have served on Operations all around the world including the Falklands, Kosovo, both Gulf wars and Afghanistan. During operations they work as casualty handlers, drivers, Radio Operators and convoy protection - giving vital support to troops both on the ground as well as at Sea.
