If you have 180 UCAS points or more and want to gain a fully-funded honours degree then joining the Royal Navy as an officer is an ideal way to do it.
In-Service Degrees
For Warfare and Logistic Officers, Plymouth University, in partnership with the Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), offers a mandated Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Maritime Studies which is awarded on successful completion of your professional training (Phase 1 and 2). The FdSc is designed to incorporate professional/vocational training with academic/educational courses.
With the FdSc you have the option to enrol on the Route to Honours programme with Plymouth University (BRNC) which will result in a BSc (Hons) in Defence Studies. Alternative routes to honours degrees may be partly funded via, for example, the Open University or the University of Portsmouth.
