Most jobs in the Royal Navy are available to everyone, with or without formal qualifications. If you have completed further education or even a degree, the opportunities open up even further. The jobs you can choose at this point depend on the number of UCAS points you have or the degree subject you have read.

Officer Entry Standards
The minimum academic requirements for officer entry into the Naval Service are 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, including English Language and Maths, 180 UCAS points from the UCAS tariff table, which must include 2 non-overlapping subjects and each subject must be allocated at least 45 UCAS points. Qualifying subjects must normally have been obtained within a maximum spread of 13 months and be of sufficient academic content. Equivalent educational qualifications are considered.
In-Service Honours Degree
If you have 180 UCAS points or more and want to gain a fully-funded honours degree while already being paid a starting salary of £24,615, then a career in the Royal Navy as an officer is the ideal way to do it. This combines the best of both worlds: you gain an honours degree without accumulating huge students debts and you already have your job guaranteed.
