RFA Seaman Grade Two
As a Deck Rating, your main job will be replenishments at sea (RAS), working either out on deck or at the helm. You'll also be part of the flight-deck team, operate cranes and winches and crew your ship's fast-rescue craft and other small boats. If you're in hostile waters, you may help to defend your ship using various light weapons. You can't wait for fair weather, or even daylight, to carry out a RAS, so you'll need to be prepared to work outdoors in all conditions. It's a real seaman's life, offering tremendous challenges, rewards and opportunities to learn new skills. Your job will involves spending a lot of time outside, working in a all weathers and sometimes in dangerous conditions.
