Ship and Shore Visits

To give students a more in-depth insight into our life and work, we can arrange for visits to Royal Navy ships or Royal Navy and Royal Marines establishments. There’s nothing quite like seeing things up close.

A huge variety of options:

There are plenty of ways students and teachers can learn more about the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. There’s a five-day course for students at the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre (CTCRM), designed to provide a realistic view of all aspects of Royal Marines training.

Teacher visits:

We also encourage teachers and careers advisers to see for themselves what life’s like in the Royal Marines with a visit to the CTCRM, Lympstone. You’ll have the chance to talk to recruits and their instructors and get a full overview of Royal Marines life, including details about initial training and careers opportunities.

“I’ve not stopped talking about the visit since I got back home. The kids in my form were fascinated this morning, listening to me talking about the Marines in general and my experience over the two days.” Kaskenmoor School – Lancashire

Meet the Marines:

A team of Royal Marines can also visit your region and provide a range of interactive activities for up to 120 young people a day. Typical activities include paintballing, rigid raider boats, climbing and abseiling.

Helicopter visits:

If you can provide an adequate landing site, we can arrange for a Royal Navy helicopter to visit you (depending on operational requirements). These visits give your students the chance to look around the aircraft and talk to the crew about life in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm.

If you think you or your pupils would enjoy any of these ship or shore visits, please get in touch to find out more.
